"Hell for stout" is an old engineer's expression that means over-built. I have been around dogs most all my life, and bull breeds for most of that. Ever since I was young I was obsessed with the bulldog as the timeless symbol of courage, loyalty & tenacity. Disillusioned with the modern AKC English Bulldog and the health problems associated with the breed, I began studying the many breeding programs aimed at recreating the original bull baiting dogge of olde England. We use only the finest multigenerational dogs we can find that fit our vision of what a true Old Time Bulldog should be. We strive to produce a compact, muscular bulldogge with a solid family temperament. These are not AKC English Bulldogs. Stand our dogs beside modern (AKC) Bulldogs and see how much more "Bulldog" they are. Give them a job to do, and see how well they do it. Take them for a walk, and see how much fitter and healthier they are. Breed them, and see how they self-whelp. Own them and see how well they serve their friends. In short, see how the Bulldogge of a century ago has come home. |
